Ashwood Physical Therapy is an outpatient physical therapy practice that specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries and orthopedic conditions. Our Mission is to provide the highest quality of physical therapy care to patients with individualized treatment in a friendly and supportive environment of experienced and knowledgeable therapists. We have over 50 years of combined experience in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation care.

Paul L. Williams founded Ashwood Physical Therapy, Inc. in 1987.
He received his B. A. (in Biological Sciences) from California Lutheran University in 1969, and his M. A. in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 1971. In addition, Paul has been a Certified Athletic Trainer for 30+ years. He was the Head Assistant Athletic Trainer at U.S.C. for 18 years treating all collegiate men and women athletes with emphasis on the Football and Basketball Teams. Paul was also involved in the rehabilitation and athletic care of many international stars of the Olympic Games of 1972, 1976, 1980, and 1984 Summer Olympics Games held in Los Angeles.
Paul has been a trainer for several NFL Football Teams during their training camps, and maintains contact with team personnel and staff. Mr. Williams has been certified in many courses in physical therapy and sports medicine, including Advanced Cybex Rehabilitation, McKenzie Lumbar Spine Treatment, Myofascial Release, Institute of Physical Art, and has completed two six-month courses (upper and lower quarters) in Maitland concepts of spinal and extremity mobilization. In addition, he has been a long term member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) since 1995. |

James Kirk received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Santa Barbara graduating Magna Cumulate. He completed his Masters degree in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge graduating with distinction. In 2005, he attained an additional Board Certification as an Orthopedic Certified Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association. In addition to his full time duties as a physical therapist, James is the Executive Officer for his Naval Reserve Unit and has been in the Navy Reserves for 18 years.
James has taken several continuing education courses in all areas of orthopedics. He has studied Maitland, Mulligan, Institute of Physical Art, and North American Orthopedic Manual Therapy approaches. He has an extensive background in injury prevention, body mechanics, sports and post surgical rehabilitation for both the spine and extremities.
He has participated competitively in track (middle distance runner, hurdles), cross country and wrestling and understands the demands of those sports on body. Leisurely he enjoys hiking, running, cycling and spending time with his 3 children. |

Linda Brown received her Bachelors of Science in Health Science and Health Education and her Masters in Physical Therapy from California State University, Northridge. She has an extensive background in office ergonomics, vestibular rehabilitation, sports injuries, aquatic rehabilitation, and women's health.
Linda has participated in high school and collegiate sports which include track, cross country, volley ball, and water polo. She is an active cyclist, competitive mountain biker, and runner. Her passion also includes adventure racing. Linda is very motivated and dedicated to ongoing continuing education courses to enhance her skills to provide the most effective rehabilitation to her patients.
She has been certified in numerous courses in physical therapy which include: The 2004 Year Long Manual Therapy Course: Orthopedic Physical Therapy (160 hours), The 2003 Year Long Manual Course: An Integrated Approach to Examination, Assessment and Management of the Neuro-Orthopedic Patient (200 hours), and The Ergonomic Worksite Analysis. |
